Last week, staff at the Cape Wildlife Facility wildlife sanctuary and veterinary hospital in Massachusetts discovered a bird in need of help. It was about a sweet goose who lives in a nearby pond and was having trouble walking due to an injured paw.
Arnold, the charming goose, was taken to the wildlife hospital for medical treatment by the site crew.
However, it appears that they weren’t the only ones concerned about the goose’s well-being; someone extremely important was keeping an eye on her as well.
Arnold’s leg was gravely injured, and after many examinations, the vets had to perform surgery to properly fix it.
The most baffling element is that the disappearance of the goose in the pond was not overlooked, and everything seemed to imply that his beloved dearly missed him.
A goose who had been his mate for a long time wished to assist him in this dreadful time.
The lovely goose was concerned about her partner and eager to assist in any way she could.
Employees of the center posted on Instagram:
“As we were about to sedate Arnold and prepare him for surgery, we heard a faint knock on the clinic door.” When we looked around, his friend was waddling onto the porch, hoping to get admission to our clinic! He’d managed to find it…»
Fortunately, Arnold’s operation was a success, but his lover demanded no less and stood by his side during the procedure.
The crew continued, saying:
“She was standing outside the door, staring at us as we worked.”
They then decided to place Arnold near the door and open it, allowing the geese to greet one another and relax.
The following observations were made by members of the center:
“They appeared to be much more at ease in each other’s company.”
Arnold will need to stay in the hospital for a few more weeks to fully recover, but he won’t have to do it alone, as the clinic staff intends to enable his fiancée to continue visiting him, guaranteeing that neither of them is worried.
