Angela has been rescuing dogs since she was 22 years old. It’s an aspect of her life that she dedicates a huge amount of time to, and she has nothing but love for the animals that she comes into contact with.
But she doesn’t just turn up at a shelter to rescue the first dog that she sees.
Angela specifically rescues the dogs that nobody else wants. These tend to be dogs with complex behavioral issues or underlying health problems that would make looking after them costly and challenging.
Although she works with dogs who have a range of challenges, Angela has a very simple formula for her success. She knows that it’s all about patience and respect, and she spends time building trust with the dogs she rescues.
This can often require long periods of sitting in silence in the presence of a dog, while other times it might mean she has to coax a dog out of a particularly difficult situation with food and water. Whatever she has to do, Angela is prepared to give her all for the animals.
Angela has rescued so many dogs over the years, but the experience that has touched her the most is when she drove four hours to rescue Freddy. When Angela arrived at the shelter, Freddy was in such a bad way. She was badly deformed and in terrible health, and Angela knew that she had to do everything in her power to give her the best chance in life.
After nursing her back to health, Angela was thrilled to see Freddy thrive in her new home. She loves to dance, play, and interact with the other dogs, and in spite of her disabilities, she’s learned to love life and her family.
Thanks to Angela’s wonderful rescue mission, she provides dogs that would otherwise be overlooked a second chance in life. To keep up with Angela’s rescues you can follow her on Instagram.
