Jeff Clutch stopped into his neighborhood Burger King’s drive-thru to have a bite to eat the other day. But something caught his eye as he waited behind a queue of automobiles to place his order.
Clutch told The Dodo, “I observed this really tame squirrel hanging out on the ledge adjacent to the drive-thru window.” “However, I didn’t think anything of it.”
But, as it turns out, the squirrel wasn’t there by chance.
Clutch began to hear laughter from the automobile behind him as he sat in his car. He looked up again, this time toward the drive-thru window, to see what was going on.
Then a hand appeared.
It had a single fry in its grasp.
That was clearly the squirrel’s order.
The squirrel took the fry in his mouth and descended the ledge, anxious to eat his treat.
“He was very at ease with everything that was going on around him,” Clutch added.
Clutch was still waiting in line for his dinner, but he wasn’t too bothered by the delay.
“No one seemed to be annoyed with this squirrel for getting ahead to acquire service,” he remarked.
Clutch questioned the fluffy-tailed customer who’d come before him when he eventually got to the window to place his order.
And, sure enough, he was told:
“Yes,” Clutch confirmed. “He’s a regular.”
